- Photos and documents you upload — including inspiration, closet, and itinerary files retained in your private vault so you can revisit their original context
- Saved fashion information — including boards, liked or hidden looks, wardrobe details, trip plans, assembled outfits, sizes, and shopping-region preferences
- Email preferences — when you opt into trip, packing, product, or marketing reminders
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, referring URLs
- Device information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- IP address — used for approximate geolocation (country/region level) and security

What we do not collect
- Payment information — all purchases happen on third-party retailer websites
- Your password when sign-in is handled by an approved identity provider
- Precise GPS location data
How We Use It
We use collected information to:
- Deliver city-specific trend recommendations and outfit suggestions
- Process your AI outfit scan and return trend scores and shoppable alternatives
- Send early access and product update emails (waitlist only — unsubscribe anytime)
- Remember your private inspiration, closet, itinerary, and styling preferences
- Send reminders you explicitly request, with separate controls for operational and marketing email
- Analyse usage patterns to improve the platform
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for targeted advertising.

Hosting providers

Supabase

Anthropic (Claude AI)

Google Fonts

Pinterest Integration
MIKAYLA may use official Pinterest embeds, approved Pinterest APIs, or licensed providers to display source-linked fashion inspiration. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pinterest, Inc.
When displaying Pinterest content:
- All Pins link back to their original source on Pinterest, as required by Pinterest's developer guidelines
- Official embeds and approved feeds remain connected to Pinterest or the licensed source rather than being copied into MIKAYLA's public media library
- We do not remove creator attribution or present another creator's work as MIKAYLA-owned media
- We do not use Pinterest data to build advertising profiles
- We do not collect Pinterest user data or require you to log into Pinterest
- We do not create new content from Pins for redistribution

Affiliate Links
Some shopping links may become affiliate links after MIKAYLA is approved for the corresponding retailer or network programme. When tracking is active and you make an eligible purchase, MIKAYLA may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
- Affiliate relationships do not influence which products or trends we recommend
- We recommend products based on relevance and quality, not commission rates
- Shopping links are clearly presented as part of our outfit and trend features
Until an affiliate relationship is active, shopping actions open ordinary retailer destinations without representing that MIKAYLA receives compensation. Purchases, returns, shipping, and payment on external sites are governed by the retailer's own terms and privacy policy.
AI Features
Outfit Scanner
When you use our optional AI Outfit Scanner and upload a photo, that photo is:
- Sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis only
- Used to identify clothing items, preserve inspiration context, and generate styling recommendations you request
- Retained privately when added to your vault so you can revisit the original outfit and accessories
- Not used to train AI models without separate explicit consent
- Not shared with any third party other than Anthropic for processing
Using the scanner is optional. Vaulted originals are private by default and can be downloaded or permanently deleted through account controls when connected storage is enabled.
Trend Intelligence
Our AI trend engine uses Claude to generate city-specific fashion analysis. This does not involve any personal data — it uses general fashion knowledge and public web sources.
Data Storage & Security
- Account and reminder information may be stored in Supabase with access controls and encryption at rest when connected storage is enabled
- All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Vaulted photos and itinerary files use private storage and time-limited access rather than public file URLs
- Account data and vaulted uploads are retained until you delete them or request account deletion, subject to limited legal or security retention requirements
- Cached trend data (non-personal) is automatically purged after 24 hours
No internet transmission is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children
MIKAYLA is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. In accordance with Pinterest's developer guidelines, our platform is not intended for use by children under 13.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. For significant changes, waitlist subscribers will be notified by email. Continued use of MIKAYLA after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
