What We Collect
Information you give us
- Email address — when you join our waitlist or request early access
- Photos you upload — when you use the AI Outfit Scanner. These are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers beyond your scan session
- City and budget preferences — selected during your session to personalise trend results
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent, referring URLs
- Device information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- IP address — used for approximate geolocation (country/region level) and security

What we do not collect
- Payment information — all purchases happen on third-party retailer websites
- Account credentials or passwords — we do not require account creation
- Precise GPS location data
How We Use It

Anthropic (Claude AI)

Google Fonts

Pinterest Integration
MIKAYLA uses the Pinterest API to display fashion inspiration imagery. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pinterest, Inc.
We use Pinterest API v5 to search for and display publicly available Pins related to fashion, travel, and style. When displaying Pinterest content:
- All Pins link back to their original source on Pinterest, as required by Pinterest's developer guidelines
- We do not store Pinterest images on our servers — images are served from Pinterest's CDN
- We do not modify, filter, or alter Pinterest content
- We do not use Pinterest data to build advertising profiles
- We do not collect Pinterest user data or require you to log into Pinterest
- We do not create new content from Pins for redistribution

Affiliate Links
MIKAYLA participates in affiliate programmes including the Amazon Associates Programme. When you click a shopping link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
- Affiliate relationships do not influence which products or trends we recommend
- We recommend products based on relevance and quality, not commission rates
- Shopping links are clearly presented as part of our outfit and trend features
We also link to other retailers including: Mango, COS, Zara, Reformation, Zimmermann, Net-a-Porter, Revolve, ASOS, Anthropologie, Madewell, Vagabond, Steve Madden, Gorjana, Mejuri, Monica Vinader, and various luxury brand websites. Purchases on these sites are governed by their own privacy policies.
AI Features
Outfit Scanner
When you use our optional AI Outfit Scanner and upload a photo, that photo is:
- Sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis only
- Used solely to identify clothing items and generate trend scores
- Not stored on our servers after your session ends
- Not used to train AI models without separate explicit consent
- Not shared with any third party other than Anthropic for processing
Using the scanner is entirely optional. All trend feeds, outfit building, and shopping features work without uploading any photo.
Trend Intelligence
Our AI trend engine uses Claude to generate city-specific fashion analysis. This does not involve any personal data — it uses general fashion knowledge and public web sources.
Data Storage & Security
- Waitlist emails are stored in Supabase with access controls and encryption at rest
- All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Uploaded photos are processed in memory and not written to persistent storage
- Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Cached trend data (non-personal) is automatically purged after 24 hours
No internet transmission is 100% secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
All users
- Unsubscribe — use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email us directly

- Right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection

Children
MIKAYLA is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. In accordance with Pinterest's developer guidelines, our platform is not intended for use by children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. For significant changes, waitlist subscribers will be notified by email. Continued use of MIKAYLA after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
